All bait is So. Puget Sound caught, starved, processed and flash frozen locally during the fall and winter months and stored in cold storage to be distributed in the spring. Marty Sanbeck of Pt Defiance Bait has been in the herring fishery for twenty five plus years and takes great care and pride in hand brailing his product insuring that the herring are firm and have minimal scale loss for the flash the good fishermen and guides look for. As avid S.E. Alaska fishermen we know what quality bait is. Firm bait with good color and good scales is a key to good fishing that we strive to deliver. We supply to small and large customers alike. We offer cases lots of red (5-6 inch), greens (6-7 inch), blues (7-8 inch) and purple herring (8-9inch).

Herring comes in tray pack 12 per tray except purple which is packed 8 to a tray. Our commercial customers as well as several large guide services have been loyal customers for these past several years.
